Having moved to Los Angeles from NY after graduating with an accounting degree from Queens College, Joey started his career as a music royalty auditor in the late seventies. He quickly learned the ins and outs of the music business from this unique perspective and learned that recording contracts did not always mean what they said and that Artists always needed protection.
After a brief stint as the controller for the seminal punk label Faulty Records (owned by Miles Copeland) Joey learned even more about the music industry and eventually started his own business management firm for a varied stable of Grammy and Academy award winning producers and songwriters (Keith Forsey, Tommy Whitlock), rock bands (Winger, Cool for August), and singer songwriters (PJ Olsson and Tommy Henriksen) among others.
After managing the career of mega mixer Mick Guzauski, Joey realized his managerial abilities mixed with his music business knowledge was a tremendous asset that he wished to expand and started putting his efforts into co-founding Indivision Management where an Artist could feel comfortable in their independence and artistry while knowing that the vision for the future was being handled by a team of professionals.
While anchoring down the LA offices of Indivision, Joey still finds time for his two favorite hobbies, Scuba Diving and photography.
